A façade refers to one side of a building, usually the front. In architecture, the façade of a building is often the most important aspect from a design standpoint, as it sets the tone for the rest of the building. Besides commonly assumed factors like providing shield against eternal factors, value addition to identity, the façade design plays an important role in energy efficiency, natural ventilation as well as acoustic insulation.

Dual Façade

The architects, world over, are well aware of the benefits of facades. India itself, with its rising economic growth, has sparked infrastructure advancement and produced world-class designs. The concept of facade designs might be new in the Indian construction industry; it has gained popularity in the markets due to more conventional offerings of natural light, airflow, and sustainable fabricating systems.

In India, the solar energy abundance has made it possible to harnessing solar power to build facades. But while planning facades in our country, engineers are faced with a challenging environment (dust, pollution, and more). Proper material and paint choices have given a cost-effective and high endurance arrangement.

Roof/Solar energy

Even though they distantly appear complex but are far simpler. Contemporary facades are sketched with undivided attention and imagination. Design and engineering merge attributes of both characters and promote the adoption of sustainable building systems.

Modern trends have led to formative methods and lightweight fabricating materials. Materials from wood, stone, porcelain, glass, metal are becoming more adaptable to intelligent designs, allowing architects to produce the most stunning building skin. The suggested multi-fold alternatives vary in benefits based on individual interests. It is necessary to realize that the façade demands to be devised according to social aspects, safety interests, sustainability concerns, technology advancement, geographic location to ensure sustainability and efficiency.

Rain Screen Cladding System

Western homelands are in constant evolution mode and expanding with the most advanced technologies, particularly in the façade division. The continuous demand for interactive facades, double-skin façade, and energy-efficient facades, etc. is growing prominent in India. Nowadays rain screen façades, sun breakers facades, and Dual wall façades are in trend.

Parametric Façade

The integrated photovoltaic façade designs are being tried out. This technology claims to reduce energy consumption, hence the pollution and other associated costs. Parametric façade technology with Indian building theories is predicted to be India’s next big thing. Parametric is a design where the relationship between elements is used to manipulate and inform the design of complex geometries and structures.
