However, the situation is still not disheartening in India; travellers can explore places across the country with simple safety tips. Their vacation trips need to be assembled with a desirable set of precautionary instructions – what to do and what now not to do.
- Get yourself vaccinated before leaving
Though a vaccine has still not been invented for COVID-19; medical fraternity is suggesting people take vaccines which can help build the immune system. One can visit his/ her family doctor or go to a nearby hospital to take medical advice on what vaccines should s/he take before leaving for the trip
- Use sanitizer from time to time
Travelling involves going around and exploring new places. While it all sounds very visually appealing and refreshing, one should not forget that it involves a lot of unavoidable touches, be it people, places, public transport or even food joints. It is hence important to carry hand sanitizers and use them regularly. Covering the mouth will also help in protecting from dust and virus while breathing. Especially, try to maintain extreme hygiene while using a public toilet.
- Skip crowded area
WHO in its report advised to clean hands, not touch the face, disinfect clothes and accessories and avoid direct contact with susceptible people. Cleaning and hygiene are under one’s control. Analyzing sick people and avoiding them at public places is difficult as the initial days of the virus do not show any symptoms. However, group tours should be skipped as it makes people more vulnerable to virus risks. Solo travel may be the preferred method and a new experience for many.
- Eat Healthily
Even if one plans to travel in another city during the virus hit time, it is important to avoid too much of fried and fast food as it weakens the immunity system. One should carry immunity-boosting supplements like Vitamin C, Giloy juice, protein bars, Indian Gooseberry juice. One should consume fruits from local markets which are equally healthy.
