  1. I still lay with my 9 year old son until he falls asleep… He hates the dark and
    leaves the lamp on…
  2. They miss closeness before bed.. Mine sleeps with me and once he is
asleep, my husband carries him to his room..
  3. Many times a week, my son comes back in my bed in the middle of the
night…but we still make sure that he falls asleep in his room every night.
  4. Try sensory lights, calm music for a while…when he is in his bed.
  5. My son has a compression blanket. It slides over the mattress, so it acts like
a constant hug. It’s not too tight so he can still move about comfortably.
We also a have a calming Disney songs’ lullaby CD with classical
    instruments.
  6. Sensory lights help my daughter stay in her room…
  7. Night lights, Christmas lights…and a favourite stuffed animal..
  8. Try putting sign/child’s name on the bedroom door…tell him “this is now
your(child’s name) room”… stay consistent in sending him to his room to
    sleep..
  9. Their need specific light in child’s room makes the room personal to them..
